How can we improve the NWIS Snapshot Tool?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  2. Add the option to read in a list of sites

    For Site Retrieval form options. I know the methods of selection is primarily intended to be spatial, However, it would be convenient to be able to retrieve data for a selected set of sites for GIS analysis (a network for example). Could you add the option to read in a list of sites (Agency, SiteID format) in addition to using the spatial selection?

    I would like to build a geodatabase of the groundwater-level network sites in NJ with continuous data for mapping and analysis. If I do it spatially, I get other sites not in the network that I am…

  3. Improve date range entry box

    The date range entry box is a bit cumbersome. Would like to be able to tab between day, month, year or at least highlight and type in the entire date.

  5. Add ability to restrict by 1 or 2 attributes for each site type

    Add ability to restirct by 1 or two attributes for each site type. For GW would be aquifer. For SW might be Drainage area (?).

  6. p code mismatch with stats code

    The dv tab lets you pick a stat code that doesn't match the p code. Then it returns no data. Create code to prevent this? Warn user?

  7. Get sites by aquifer

    Would be nice to be able to specify the aquifer of interest instead of getting sites from all aquifers in the area.

  8. Water quality tab: Select all parameters within a group

    would be nice to be able to select the all parameters within a group that you have marked in the select tool instead of just restricting the search. Or, better documentatoin is needed to show me how to do this.

  9. Default to 'Request data for all sites'

    If no sites are selected, should default to 'Request data for all sites'. Or perhaps this should be the overall default.

  13. I did not see the disclaimer described the first time I launched the tool

    I noted that I did not see the disclaimer described on page 12 the first time I launched the tool. It has popped up with subsequent use, so it is entirely possible that I mindlessly accepted the first time(?)
